Team of Motor Vehicles Department, Kathua under supervision of RTO Dr. Raj K. Thapa conducted checking of vehicles violating traffic laws on the National Highway.
The main objective of the drive was to check the menace ofoverloading and over height in heavy vehicles. During the drive, a total of 87 vehicles were checked and 31 vehicles were seized.
In addition to the challans/compounding, the drivers were provided awareness and counselling in respect of various traffic laws &rules and also about the importance of safety measures like seat belt, fitness of vehicles, hazards of over height, overload, protruding material and mobile phones while driving.
